Super-Friends - ''The Wonder Twins''

The back-story of Zan and Jayna is...interesting to say the least (both legitimately AND in the 'weird' way). For one thing while a lot of alien superheroes are basically just using their natural abilities to act as crime-fighters, Zan and Jayne are actually alien metas (strange even by their own race's standards) and as a result were shunned by their kind (also their parents died from a plague. Bummer. ). They ended up in a space circus (as the "sideshow freak" act, unfortunately) which gave them most of their physical training: athletics, acrobatics and a sense of showmanship ("Wonder Twin powers: ACTIVATE!"). A kindly clown helps them escape (along with their trained monkey: Gleek) and they make their to Earth where the rest is pretty much history. I'm still not sure how much of it I'm going to use or how, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna write out Gleek. (sorry )

Their powers are extensive and formidable. Zan is what I guess you could call "hydromorphic"(?): able to shift not only into any form or state of water but also into ice constructs, including (somehow) working machinery (he turned into an "ice JET" once, seriously. ). Jayna meanwhile is animorphic: shape-shifting into not just Earth animals but also alien and even mythological creatures. Interestingly she once overpowered Superman by turning into a Kryptonian animal and thus gaining the same immense power from the yellow sun as he does (so she's clever, too ).

Their biggest weakness was without a doubt their co-dependence: they could not activate their powers without making physical contact first, but I was thinking of altering that in my show: Since canonically they also have a powerful "psychic link" of sorts, I thought it'd be more dynamic if their powers were affected by their emotional state and relationship to each other rather than whether or not they could just make physical contact (they would just do that out of habit as performers).

So if they were fighting with one another (or alternatively had been separated for too long and missed each other a lot) they might not be able to "activate". Or worse: if one got seriously wounded or was presumed dead the other might lose control of their powers entirely: Zan could lose the ability to stay solid altogether and collapse into a puddle from his regular humanoid form OR start growing into an unstoppable, unceasing, ice storm (his powers also included becoming weather phenomena [who thought this guy was weak?]) while Jayna might lose her reasoning in animal form and go on a feral rampage.  

Final Notes:
Personality: They have similar personalities; both are very optimistic and cheery (surprising, considering their history). They love to perform and entertain for others and showing off during fights. They love Earth and it's culture and hope to one day be as widely loved and accepted as Superman (so they jump at the chance of attaching themselves to the Friends). They can be a bit melodramatic at times (another side-effect of their nature as entertainers) and their emotions can change very quickly. They love each other very dearly and openly (but not like "THAT", sicko ) and each is the other's best friend; they will almost always be found together trying out some new, exciting Earth activity.

Costume : I'm trying not to go too crazy with any of the redesigns; I want to update the camp so it's not too cheesy but at the same time I don't want to eliminate it entirely since with a name like "the Super-Friends" (or the "Wonder Twins", for that matter) you're GONNA have a bit of cheese no matter what you do; trying to deny it outright would just make the whole thing come off as sort of disingenuous to me, so what Zan and Jayna are wearing is basically just their performance attire which, being made of alien material, is also durable enough to fight Earth crime in. 

Other: Before I studied up on their history I was designing their combat concept from memory and I didn't know the full scope of their powers, so I have Jayna wielding Zan as an ice spear (they'll both be talented martial artists) and Zan riding Jayna as a large dire-wolf (hey, it beats being lugged around in a monkey's bucket ).
